2 Years ago my company had a weight loss competition which my starting weight was 193 pounds. At the finish I weighed 182 pounds and then knew I still needed to do something about my weight. I’m 23 right now and am far too young to be that heavy. Most everyone in my family is big and I was headed that way and I’ve decided that’s not what I want. After the competition I joined a gym and began exercising regularly, something that hadn’t happened since early in high school. I started jogging a bit then running longer distance and have working at that for about a year and a half now though I’m not my peak performance so I’m taking a bit of a different approach to my running with P90X. With active users of P90X in my family and numerous reviews read online I figured it was time to give it a try. I want to run the Boston Marathon before I die and to do that I need to run a qualifying race of 3:10:00. I plan to be able to significally increase my endurance and speed with P90X, cross-training on my mountain bike and increasing my tempo runs. I’m starting this blog after 3 days of the program and I can feel the intense burn in my legs, back and shoulders so I’m definitely excited.
